چکیده

A new series of cobalt-based perovskite (Gd0.6Sr0.4)0.99Fe1-xCoxO3-? (GSFC-x, x = 0.00, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20 and 0.25) cathodes to aid in the development intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells are reported. All perovskites showed coexistence cubic orthorhombic phases. To determine their suitability, thermal properties dependence on cobalt content were investigated via dilatometry, thermogravimetry differential scanning calorimetry. GSFC-x exhibited promising activity oxygen reduction reaction ion transport from a comparable study. The expansion coefficient rich-cobalt samples more compatible value common electrolyte than other similar cathodes. By varying Co doping, compromises made between electrical conductivity. Furthermore, phase stability was observed.

Novel Mn1.5Co1.5O4 spinel cathodes for intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells.

Mn(1.5)Co(1.5)O(4) spinel oxide as a cathode or one component of a composite cathode presents no visible reaction with an Y(2)O(3)-stabilized ZrO(2) electrolyte. The low electrode polarization resistances and good performance compared with traditional Sr-doped LaMnO(3)-YSZ composite cathodes imply promising application for the next generation of intermediate-temperature solid oxide fuel cells.

Strategies for Lowering Solid Oxide Fuel Cells Operating Temperature

Lowering the operating temperature of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) to the intermediate range (500–700 oC) has become one of the main SOFC research goals. High operating temperatures put numerous requirements on materials selection and on secondary units, limiting the commercial development of SOFCs. The present review first focuses on the main effects of reducing the operating temperature in ...
